Campus Tour Walk-In Policy
*The University will be on spring break from March 4 through March 12. The Visitors Center will be open, but there will be no regularly scheduled campus tours during the break.
*The University will be closed on Monday, January 16 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. No campus tours will be offered on Jan. 16.
If the reservation system shows that tours* are full on a day you wish to visit, do not worry. Our tour is a combination of driving and walking. Because of restrictions on the number of visitors we are allowed to place on our vehicle, we are limited in the number of reservations we can accept for the driving portion of the tour. Thus, if the reservation system is showing that a particular tour is full it means we have reached capacity for the allowable number of visitors on our vehicles.
Upon your arrival at the Visitors Center, ask to be placed on the walk-in list. Our walk-in policy is first-come, first-served. If visitors with reservations cancel, do not show, or bring less people than originally planned, we will start at the top of the walk-in list and add as many people to our vehicle as we can. Please note that the walk-in lists are not created until the day of each specific tour. Guests must come in to the Visitors Center to request to be added to the walk-in list. Guests cannot request to be added to the list by telephone.
If we are unable to accommodate you on the driving portion of the tour on the day you wish to visit, we can guarantee that you will be able to participate in the full 45-minute walking portion of the tour. Anyone is welcome to join our walking tour even if they do not have a reservation. Once at the Visitors Center, you will be provided with directions and parking information so that you may join us on north campus for the walking portion of the tour! If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
*Please visit the Undergraduate Admissions and Honors Program information session pages for information on those offices’ separate procedures regarding their events that show as “full” on the calendar.
